The General Officer Commanding
in his letter, points out that the
road now in course of
construction
by the Royal Engineers is not the road
approved
and pointed out in 1869, but is some distance to the northwards
to cut off a considerable piece of land
upon which a future extension of the Barrack accommodation would take place; I have to observe that if this road be permitted to remain, it must not be regarded as the north boundary of the land ceded to the Colony which must be defined in the
line originally approved : and further that this road
must be liable to deviation hereafter.
