The considerable enlargement of the Force, and new courses taken by the personnel, were mentioned, and a tribute was pald to the real importance of the unit in the scheme of local defence. It was also stated that H.M.S. Cornflower was auccumbing to the influence of time, and would soon have to be replaced by ʼn sea-going vessel if possible. The process of raising the status of the Force to a Hongkong Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve would soon be completed.
Commander J. Petrie, Commanding to commercial companies for the loan Omeer, presided at the dinner, and of launches. those present included: 1.
