London, Dec. 16.
Hundreds of people rushed the ring at Harringay last night, and at least 50 succeeded in fighting their way over Press tables and through the ropes when Eric Boon, 18- year-old blacksmith of Chatteris, Cambridgeshire, won the British lightweight championship by knocking out Dave Crowley, of Clerkenwell, in the 13th round.
Supporters of Boon had come from all parts of the Fen country, and the thrilling climax caused one of the most fervid scenes of excitement and delirious Joy seen at a fight for years,
Boon's triumph was both brillant and, unut late in the 8th round. entirely unexpected, He was being stendily
and confidently cutpointed by his experienced and crafty op ponent until a single punch n the 11th round caused a violent swing in the fight.

Occasionally Boon was able to land a sold punch. He was also made to tier badly, ne his rather frontie swings passed over the head Crowley by six or nine inches.
In the fifth, Boon caught Crowley with a heavy punch, a fraction 100 high on the law. People cheered; grinned perkily. It was Crowley perilously close to a knockout punch.
