"OLD CROCK' DRIVERS WITH UMBRELLAS

SPLUTTERING their way bravely through torrential rain and a strong wind, all but 12 of the 105 starters finished the course to time in the "old crocks" London-Brighton run recently.

The run is held by the R.A.C. to celebrate the anniversary of "emancipation day." 1896, when the two m.p.h. limit and the man with the red flag were abolished.

SPEED LIMIT

Gold medals were presented by the Mayor of Brighton (Councilor J. Nanson) to the 93 successful drivers, Speed limits from to 18 m.ph. were imposed according to the age of the cirs, and special awards were given to the winners of cach group.

These winners were: E. L. Wood (1886 Leon-Bolice); F. S. Rowden (1898 Star), J. Swift (1901 Por hard). F. W. Hutton-Stott, jun. (1003 Lanchester).

Auto "Victim" Disappears

Louisville, Ky. Miss Peggy Hennings reported to police that she struck a woman with her automobile but could not find the "victim" when she stopped a few feet away. She said a man who witnessed the accident told her to drive on- that the woman was a friend of his who didn't want any publicity.

Visas For New York World's Fair

New York. Foreign viltufa ten the Now York World's Fair 1030 must obtain a non-immigration viso, good for six months. This period can be extended upon official approval. Federal authorities and Immigration officialy will make a close cheek-up to be sure all the 500,000 foreign visitors expected at the Fair return to their hative lands at expiration of their visas.
