Pleas To Home Office Ignored
Of about 40,000,000 gas masks issued at Home during the Crisis, thousands
destroyed are being damaged and every day because there are no facilities to store them, A.K.P. officers are powerless to do anything.
The Home Office,has announced that 5,000,000 curtons for holding masks are being minde weekly. But a Home Office A.JP, official said: "I am unable to tell you how many cartons have been delivered or when the total will have been sent out."
Fewer than 300,000 cartons have been delivered to London boroughs, A.R.P, officers have been clamouring for the containers. They have been told that the cartons will be sent shortly..... They have been told that for three weeks. In the meantime the number of damaged masks in- creases daily.
