Water Bottle
A newly born Chinese baby which died 23 hours after birth, following scalds received through an insufficiently wrapped hot water bottle, at the Taan Yuk Hospital on October 3, was held at the Central Magistracy yesterday afternoon, with Mr. R. A. D. Forrest sitting as Coroner. He was assisted by a jury comprising Messrs. J. T. Brown (Foreman), Pang Wai-kam and Wong Suk-ki. A booklet on the Society's activities for 1937 and 1038 was published in October. In view of the many re- fugees who came to the Colony from the interior with their mul-trai, and in response to popular request, we published in the Chinese press ex- pranation of the mui-tsol and adopted daughters' ordinances and the method of liberating these slave girls.
Seventeen cases of ill-treatment of mul-tsal were dealt with by the Society, Three, upon investigation, were found false, five are still under Investigation, and the remainder were handed over to the Secretary for Chinese Affairs. Onc case of 1- treatment ut a small boy was suc- cessfully
