Hungary's Proposals In Detail

Budapest, Oct. 24. Hungary wants to send troops im- mediately into the areas In Czecho- Slovakin which the Czechy agreed to cede previous to the negotiations.

This is the leading point in the the energetic proposals handed to Creen Government by the Hungarian Minister at Prague.

Hungary proposes plebiscites in eight sections before November 30, where there are difference between the two governments rgarding Hungary's claims.

With regard to Bratislavin, there should be no plebiscite, but separate discussions.

READY TO

FIGHT ANYBODY

Japan And Defence Of Her Interests

Shanghal, Oct. 25. Interviewed by Hans Melchers, the Trans-Ocean representative, Japanese

Commander-in-Chief tor Central China, General Hata, said: The Japanese army is prepared to fight decisive battle at Hankow."

General Hata added, however, that he believed that Marshal Chiang crack divisions would Kai-shek's withdraw further into the Interior of China and that this would neces- sitate a continuation of hostiles.

General Hats, on the other hand, did not believe that the Chinese army would later on offer systematic resistance to the Japanese on a large scale. He attributed the relatively Blow progress achieved by the Japanese during the past few weeks less to the stiffeness of Chinese re- sistance than to the tremendous dit- ficulties offered by the terrain.

In reply to a question concerning the conclusion of the hosiflities, the Japanese C. In C. affirmed that Japan only desired that the Chinese Government should danbon its anti-Japanese attitude.

The question as, to whether one Central, or several regional Govern- ments should be established in Chian, wus, according to Central Hala, a question to be decided by the Chinese alone, and did not concern Japan.

Asked whether Jupan was in a position to risk a war with the Suvlet Union, General Hata replied that Japan would not hesitate to take the gauntlet against nation, Including the Soviet Union, if this should be necessary to protect Japanese rights and interests. He added that the Soviet

viet assertions re- garding the strength of the Soviet Fur-Eastern army were not to be ne- cepted at their face-value.

General Inta concluded by, saying that an eventual European conflict could not have induenced the Japanese military operations In China. Trans-Ocean.
