Hongkong Man's Tehan War Zone Experiences
MACHINE-GUNNED BY JAPANESE PLANES
Fears regarding the safety of Mr. T. V. Vlachos,, reported missing since September 18 in the Tehan war zone, were set to rext this morning, when an urgent United Press message was received from Tehan, reporting that the missing Hongkong man was alive,

Mr. Vinchos.-Hongkong--resident. who formerly lived in Shanghai, broke his leg. employed by the China Airmolive Company. He left Hongkong some time ago, on behalf of his employers, to visit Hankow.
It is believed, reports United Press from Tehan, that he had a narrow estupe from death when a military truck in which he was travelling from Changsha to the war zone was machine-gunned by Japanese pursint plunes.

For two days his only companions were three peasants who could not talk English.
