Mr. Carl Eskelund, Danish cor- respondent of the
newspaper Poll- tein of Copenhagen, who arrived here yesterday morning Hankow aboard a special train by the Hankow-Canton railway, denied to Domel that he was deported by the Chinese authorities in liankow.
He admitted that he was' detained by three Chinese gendarmes while photographing near .tho French Concession in Hankow and

very roughly treated. While he was undergoing examination at a nearby police station, the Danish Consul- General came In and through his good offices he was released three hours Inter.
