I put it before the Consul, and he was too unwell to attend to it, but advised me to take it on to Hong Kong which I did and the Marine Magistrate Capt Thomsett dismissed the case in consequence of which the men got so insolent it was hard to get them to do anything without grumbling, and a few days after the above case was dismissed my chief officer had occasion to take one of the men before the same magistrate for insolence, and he dismissed the case again.
