A particularly audacious attempt to snatch a handbag from Mrs. Madgej Erlund of Hankow Road, was made last night in Nathan Road, when a Chinese came up from behind while Mrs. Erlund was walking with an- other woman. The man grubbed the bag and dashed off into Jordan Rond.
Mr. Erlund and Mr. Cemernic. husbands of the ladies, were walking slightly ahead and they turned back to chase the thief.
The snatcher failed to get away. two people in Jordan Road inter- eeping him, and he was taken to the Yaurnati police station. The handbag was restored with nothing missing.
