Wrote Famous Song In Five Minutes
London; July 20.
of The composer
one of the world's most famous marching songs is dead.
He is Jack Judge, who wrote "It's A Long Way to Tipperary."
Judge died of meningitis to-day, at the age of sixty, in a West Bromwich Hospital.
His famous song was composed during the early days of the Great War in a West Bromwich tavern.
The song arose out of a bet for a small wager, that Judge could not compose, play and sing a song within ave minutes. He won his bet and the British and Dominion armies marched through the mud of France to the beat of a song that is still as popular throughout the Empire on it was during the years of the war United Prean.
