The situation remains quiet on the Hukow front, where the Japanese are assembling large army for their big drive along the south bank of the Yangtse, according to Chinese reports.
Japanese reinforcements are sail to be arriving in large numbers daily in transports from points down river.
Chinese mobile units are reported to be displaying activity in Shantung, where China's Secred Mountain of Taishan is located. According to a Chinese official military despatch Chinese guerillas are engaged in severe fighting with the Japanese garrison there. Reuter.
