cies, the new U. S. "Presiden- tal Series" of postage makes its insw with the alriking 1-cent George Washington stemp repro- duera here slightly more thum OG and one-half times actunt bize.
Printed in green ink, in sheets of 100 by rotary process, the stamp is 0.35 by 0.87 inches, with Ant background and without border. It was designed by Miss Elaine Rawlinson of New York City, winner of a nationwide con- test conducted several months ago by the Treasury Department. Very likely the same motif will be em- ployed throughout the entire
Issue of 32 stamps in this new series.

Tears wolled into Elizabeth's syon. "Dad, you've got to help him," she pleaded.
Mathews exploded. "Halp him!" he cried. "I haven't slept for a wool! Why? Because I've tried to help him. But he won't let me. I'm wash- ed up. I'm through! He'll have to take what's coming to him."
"You can't do that to Bill, Dad- dy," Elizabeth sald softly.
