2,000 NURSES GET THEIR
L.C.C. APPROVES SHORTER HOURS, ASKS FOR RECRUITS
Proposals to reduce the hours of nurses in L.C.C. hospitals from 54 per week to 96 per fortnight, remove restrictions on evening leave and provide increased facili ties for leisure and recreation were adopted by the L.C.C. recently.
There are 20,000 or more nurses in London's hospitals and Institutions, and it is estimated that the proposals will mean 1,000 During additional staff at an ultimate cost of £123,000 a year. the present financial year the extra cost is estimated at £80,000,
