JAPANESE DENY STORY** OF AMOY ATROCITIES
London, May 24.
It is learned that a copy of the Japanese protest regard- ing the statement In the House of Commons by the Under- Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Mr. R. A. Butler, has now been received from Tokyo.
In reply to a question in the House on May 18, the Under- Secretary stated that, whilst he had no information about whole- sale shooting of Chinese women and children during the recent Japanese attack on Amoy, confirmation had been received of the fact that Chinese soldiers were taken prisoner and shot on the Amoy bund by the Japanese.
