U.S. Minister Austria Under Weds Abroad Aryan Decree
Washington, May 24. Mr. Harold Ickes, Secretary of been the Interior, has State, for married in Dublin, Ireland, to Miss June Dahlman, a 25-year-old Ameri- can girl from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The news of the wedding caused the greatest surprise in Washington, as only Mr. Ickes' closest friends had known that he had gone abroad to be married.
After the ceremony, the brkle and bridegroom cabled the news to their friends in Washington.-Reuter,

Berlin, May 24. The Aryan decrees, which were enacted at Nuremberg on September 15, 1933, will henceforth be appiled to Austrin.
A decree, published in Berlin to
the diny, states that the "law for protection of the German race against contamination" has now been ex- tended in scope to embrace the former Austrian nation.
Under the terms of the decree Jewa may not marry Aryans, and are generally restricted in other ways.
The elause prohibiting Jews from employing German or other Aryan women under the age of 45 years will not be applied to Austria before August 1, however,
