R. G. Forbes, who was promoted on April 1, has been appointed in command of No. 824 Squadron of Fairey Swardfsh torpedo spotter-reconnaissance air- craft, in H.MS. Eagle, on the China Station, in succession to Squadron Lender A. B. Woodhall.
Squadron Leader Forbes was train- ed for a sen career in H.M.S. Conway, and served as midshipman, R.N.R from 1924 to 1927, when he entered the R.A.F. with a short-service com- mission. for which permanent commission was substituted in 1934.
