Time Limit For A Kiss: 5 Minutes
How long can a kiss be?
This question was debuted in Dor- chester Police Court recently, when Winifred May Strickland, twenty- -year-old domestic servant, of Framp- ton, Dorsetshlic, summoned Arthur Sprake, bus driver, of the same vil- läge, for common assault by kissing her.
She declared that he kissed her for five minutes against her will,
Mr. P. II. Morton, defending soll- cilor, said: "It beats the movies. I doubt if it is possible to kiss any one for 'Ave minutes.“
"Oh, I don't know, Mr. Morton," said Mr. A. E. Andrews, the clerki
Mr. Morton rotarted: "The learn-. ed clerk has had more experience than I have had."
It was alleged that the incident occurred in Spraka's bus.
Miss Strickload said Sprake pushed her back in hor seat, put his arms round her, and "stayed kissing" her for five minutes.
Sprake denied kissing the girl."

Shanghai, May 11. Fighting on Amoy Island was still in progress early to-day, n Japanese naval spokesman announced here of 10 o'clock this morning.
The slluation, he claimed, was "developing satisfactorily" more than half of the Island in Japanese hands.
Chinese claims, s'elayed here by a foreign news agency, that 100 Japan- ese sailors had been killed and 73 taken prisoner by the Chinese, were characterised by the spokesman as "wholly false."
Japanese casualties yesterday, he asserted numbered about ten!
Large numbers of Chinese soldiers, on the contrary, had been killed or wounded by the nerial and naval bombardment carried out to cover and assist the Japanese landing.
Can Occupy Another Place The spokesman declined to reveal the strength of the Japanese landing force but said that it was sufficient to "occupy Amoy and some other place."
A part of the elty of Amoy, alleged- ly set on fire by the Chinese troops
in
pursuance of their "ecorched earth" policy, was still burning, the spokesman said,
