Shanghai, Apr. 28. Japanese reports state that a large number of anti- Japanese workers have secretly arrived in Shanghai from Hongkong and Ningpo.
The reports state that the alleged presence of these anti-Japanese elements has caused great anxiety among the local Japanese authorities, because it is believed they are planning to carry out important plots.
The reports said that Ningpo had become an important port since the outbreak of hostilities due to the large quantities of foodstuffs sent there, from where they were transported to Hankow by road and railways through the Chekiang and Kiangsi provinces. Ningpo, it is alleged, is also the base for the operations of anti-Japanese elements in Shanghai.-United Press.
