"OUR RELATIONS"

TO-MORROW:—Joan Crawford in "TO-DAY WE LIVE”

CAME OUT IN 1928

Mr. Rupley came from Ilford and was employed in the London office of the Hongkong & China Gas Co., Ltd. before, in 1928, he came to this Colony as assistant accountant. He soon established himself as a very popular figure in local club life, joining the Kowloon Dowling Green Club to whose Committee he was elected a year later. He also was a meinber of the Zetland Lodge No. 525 English Constitution and, for a time, of the Engineers' Institute.

soon

His main interest, however, centred in bowls and therefore in the K.B.G.C., in which he had served on Committee continuously since 1920 and for one term as President.

His farewell party was an en- thusiastic gathering of some sixty #members who, with others, had sub- scribed for two Tlentsin carpets. Mr.

fr. Rapley, in thanking them, sald he was going Home with feelings of optimism.

Sympathy will be extended to his wife and daughter both of whom had many friends in the Colony.
