A judge need special Jury as a concrete case. Notice was given by plaintiff's attorney to produce the book of the Steam "Anadyr" on the day of the trial. What purported to be a copy of the log was produced, but which was represented by Officer of the "Anadyr" and the Agent of the Company not to be the proper log. They said the official log was in the French Consulate, and would be produced next day.
Next day the Attorney for the Company produced certified Extracts by the French Consul. The judge told the Attorney that he had undertaken to produce the book, and he ought to do so. The Court adjourned for the production, and it appears the Attorney for the Company took out the subpoena. The log was produced in Court on the 16th instant and was immediately handed back to the Agent of the Company. The Chanceller of the French Consulate attended - The book being produced it was necessary for the Consul to attend.
