1,500,000 Youths To Be Emigrated To Manchukuo
Tokyo, Mar. 17.
Mass comigration of about 1,500,000 youths to Manchukuo over a period of 20 years will be started in the fiscal year beginning April 1, secord- ing to the plans of the Overseas Ministry, which will call for appro priations amounting to Y5,500,000 during the first your,
bill requesting the appropria- tions will be introduced to the Diet shortly as a supplementary budget
account.
During 1938, 30,000 youths will be sent to Manchukuo. The plan is to parallel another 20 year programme now in effect, which is designed to transplant 1,000,000 families to Man- chukuo.
The new emigration programme will be limited to unmarried youths between the ages of 18 and 19, who will be given every training doces- sary for engaging in collective farm- ing in Manchuria-Reuter Special,
