Frederick Jackson, Man Who Rescued Nansen
London, March 13. The death is announced of Major Frederick Jackson, discoverer and ex-
plorer, who died on a barge in the Thames, London, on which he had lived with his wife during the past year.
Major Jackson rescued the famous polar explorer, Nansen, when the Latter was missing in the Arctie in. 1800.
Nansen subsequently recorded his gratitude by naming one of his discoveries, territorial
