London, Mar. 13. Amazing scenes were witnessed at Trafalgar Square when 20,000 demonstrated against Herr Hitler's invasion of Austria. The meeting unanimously passed a resolution urging the British Government to refuse to continue negotiations with Germany and Italy until German troops had been withdrawn from Austria, and Austrian independence restored.
The resolution also asked for the dispute to be transferred to the League of Nations.
After the meeting the crowd formed into a procession and moved off toward the German Legation, but strong detachments of police stopped it at the foot of Regent Street. Traffic was disorganised over a large part of the West End.-Reuter.
