Judicial. To meet complaints having been made by the Chief Justice of deficiencies in the Library, the Vote for Books has been increased this year from $480 to $1000.

Educational. The increase of $360 under this head provides for a Teacher at a new Country school.

Medical. It has been considered advisable to add $1100 to the estimate for Provisions, Fuel, and Lighting - the Vote for the preceding year having been found inadequate. The pay of the Chinese Cook has also been increased by $48 and another Coolie has been added to the establishment at a cost of $96 per annum.

Police. The increase of $4000 in this head is caused by the payment of gratuities to time-expired Men.

Gaol. The addition made to the Salaries of the Turnkeys & Guards has been voted very willingly by the Council, as the duties...
