EXPLANATORY REMARKS.

The provision made under these heads proved to be in excess of the requirements of the Service.

This increase was for Passages to Destitutes, &c., &c.

This expenditure was incidental.

Vide detailed estimate for increase.

The Lamps, Lanterns, &c., for Cape Collinson were not provided for on Estimate,

The purchase of the new Steam Launch has caused this excess.

No provision was made on Estimate for the Resumption of Inland Lot No. 12 for No. 5 Police Station.

The low Rate of Exchange caused this.

Net Decrease, £74.7.10-$357.09.
