I cannot consider this an satisfactory despatch -
1. as to supplying the Treasury chest, Whatever correspondence may have passed between 30th May & 24th June the date of the issue of the advertisement, or whoever may or may not have replied letters during that period, the enclosures to 10796 then show that on the 26th June, a subordinate in the Treasury Chest Department did apply to the Colonial Government for the supply of $466,000 of copper coin; in reply his attention was directed on the 27th June by the Treasurer to the notification in the Gazette which letter appears to me distinctly to imply that the
