I referred Captain Blockley's letter to the Marine Magistrate, Captain Thornett, and have

the honour to transmit a copy of the report which has been received from that office.

I have the honour to be,

My Lord, Your Lordship's most obedient

humble servant,

Arturmede

Governor

Hong Kong.

Report from the Marine Magistrate on

the complaint against his decision, made

to the Board of Trade by the Master

of the "Nautilus of Stobart Town

There

cases were decided on

their respective merits. The first

case was

one in which the defendant, who had been second mate and Boatswain, did

his work in a somewhat clumsy

manner

which caused the master to use harsh

expression towards him, and the 2nd Mate replied in similar language. The complainant and Defendant being each in the wrong the case was dismissed.
