proper Authorities, to ascertain whether the crime of murder
on the high
seas
of one James
M. Alwood (or Atwood) has been committed by the Master, Thomas
Peabody, the Chief mate, John R.
Inaw, and the second mate,
Charles Stafford, of said vessel. And I have to respectfully request that the said Thomas Peabody, John R. Inaw and
Charles Stafford, may be arrested and held with
such proceedings
as may
be
lawful and necessary to subserve the ends of
