Tunchi, Chekiang, Jan. 18.

The counter-offensive launched by the Chinese forces on the Hangchow-Wuhu front has been successful, resulting in the recapture of Kwangteh, Lanchi, Anchi, Hsiaofeng, Yuhang and Fuyang during the last few days.

After being routed by Chinese forces, the Japanese at Fuyang and Yuhang retired to Hangchow. The, victorious Chinese forces entered the two cities on the night of January 15. They set free all Chinese civilians detained by the Japanese and returned things allegedly looted by them to the owners.

On the Wuhu front the Chinese: forces have taken Peimashon and are advancing on Fenkhalchi where fierce fighting deciding the fate of Wuhu is imminent.

In view of the tension, four Japanese worships loaded with were dispatched to Wuhu marines yesterday to reinforce their troops there.-Central News.
