FANLING HUNT RACES JANUARY MEETING TO BE HELD ON SUNDAY

(By "Captain Foster")

Very satisfactory entries have been received for the January Meeting of the Fanling Hunt and Race Club to be held at Kwanti on Sunday when a programme of six interesting events will be contested.

I like Glorious Star for the New South Wales Handicap over 1% miles sleeplechasing with Fairy and Saltire to follow.

As an added interest, the Stewards, has a pull of only four pounds. I cannot see Valorous' chance of win- ning. have provided an official flat handi- cap event over a mile confined to. Attention of owners is directed by The fact that starters must be de- clared on the forms provided in the before 2.15 p.m., Weighing Room

for the first race, and 45 minutes before the time stated on the pro- gramme for all subsequent events. This is new to Fanling.

The San Wai Steeplechase over 19 miles has attracted eight entries including the old Jumper, Pride of Tsingtao, who has been allotted some lead to think of. J wonder whether this old Umer hus the legs to shoulier 163 lbs. Diogenes hus been given tap weight and he hus to concede 15 lbs. to Widnes, who won the Ambulance Cup at the last mert. The latter is my fancy.
