Siam, both military and commercial, are direct threats against the British Empire, according to the Singapore Morning Tribune.
Among other things, the puper claims that Japanese nid is be- ing used to build a huge new alrdrome at Bangkok, within fly- ing range of Britain's £20,000,- .000 ($100,000,000,00) air and
naval base.
Commenting on the signing of u Treaty of Friendship between Shun and Japan, the Morning Tribune states;
"British Malnya must be closely interested in the terms of the new Treaty, for military concessions in
Siam would be a threat to the safety of this country and of the Singapore baso"
