with that until they

thus undeceived,

the Colonial Government

were

naturally all

strengthened in their

impressions as to the correctness

of their

views.

rendered

my Telegram dated 10th August, 1876, necessary, originated

in the

Major Generals Memorandum

order, which he

declined to rescind or

modify.
