Beside the above deficiency, the Imperial Government have further lost interest on #26,519.33 for three months, and #54,426.31 for two months with respect to which special instructions will be applied for to the Lords of the Majesty's Treasury, regards the responsibility of the Colonial Government to make good said loss.

The average drawing rate for the first half of the month of April 1876 was 3/9¾ - the dollar; the rate for the first half of July 5/5¼ the dollar. £5,000 @ 3/9¼ = #26,519.33
