GIANT clam shell, targc enough to be used as a haby's bath has been presented! to the Australian Museum. It weighs about 4 cwt., in 3 ft. 2 in. in length, and 2ft. 11⁄2 in. across a world record for a muscum specimen.
The shell was found on a reef off the Gilbert Islands. It is n beautiful specimen and may be anything up to 500 years old.
