Perfect Harmony at Anglo-French Talks

CO-OPERATION KEY-NOTE OF TWIN POLICY

CONTINUED VIGILANCE TO GUARD INTERESTS

IN FAR EAST FIELD

London, Nov. 29.

"We only came out when unanimity was reached" smilingly remarked M. Camille Chautemps, the French Primo Minister, at the conclusion of this evening's Anglo- French conversation, which denotes a remarkable success in the first day's'business ranging over a wide field.

Firstly, Lord Halifax fully reported on his impres- sions of his recent German visit, and then the statesmen explored the colonial question in all its aspects, and agreed that a further examination would be necessary. After this the situation of the Little Entente was debated in view of M. Yvon Delbos' departure for Warsaw on Thurs- day, after which he will visit Bucharest, Belgrade and Prague.

When the Far East was discussed both sides fully agreed on the seriousness of the position and the need for further vigilance to safe- guard their intereals. Finally views were exchanged regarding Spain.

In the summing up, both sides expressed desire to co-operate with all other countries, though it was realised that much preparation was necessary before nelual negotiations could come in sight.

M. Chautemps, in

interview with Reuter, expressed great pleasure at the course of events which had revealed the full solidarity of the Governments. "We not only two made n tour of the horizon, but a tour of the world," he said.

Declining to commit the impro- priety of disclosing details, M. Chou- temps

added that the conference would be resumed to-morrow. A communique will be issued in the ..afternoon, but, he added, "we shall finish our work to-morrow morning in perfect harmony."-Rzuter.

FRENCH OPINION

London, Nov. 30. According to rome French observers it is believed that at the Anglo-French talks, if it is agreed that Germany's colonial claims should be discussed, this will only be done h If Germany will also discuss a general pacific agreement.-Reuter.

COLONIAL CONFERENCE

SUGGESTED

Londen, Nov. 29.

It is reported that the conferees at the Anglo-French talks have been studying French proposals of a con- ference of Coloniul governments, but no decision was reached.

The acceptance of such a sugges tion would result in s conference between Britain, France, Japan; Bel- gium. Australia, New Zealand, the Union of South Afrien and other British Commonwealth representa- tives.

the

M. Chautemps told the press that they were very pleased with outcome of the discussions. They had not only toured the horizon but hod toured the

and every- the world, where they encountered the British. "We have great pleasure in saying that on all

all subjects we reached com- plete accord with our British cal- lengues, and we rejoice in this full solidarity of the two governments." An official British source said that there had been discussed "all aspects"

of

the colonies, and it was "generally agreed that the subject required further examination." Also discuss-

ed were the Orient and Spain, with

a re-ufirmation of the France-British policy of non-int:rvention.-United Prest.
