LACKADAISICAL DISPLAY OF CHARITY FOOTBALL

BRILLIANT WORK BY ROWLANDS .

After leading by two goals to one at half time, the Combined Services were completely routed by the "Rest of the Colony" in the annual Armistice Day chari. ty football match yesterday on the Club ground and were final- ly defeated by five goals to two.

with the team, and the lackadaisical coida which had been seen before, were turned into dangerous movements.
In the second half, the "test" had obtained such a mastery that they made rings round the Services de-

Apart from the saves brought off Rowlands and a few runs down the middle by Yowler, the game was almost completely develd of Drills. In fact, there were some extremely dull patcher during which one could almost fall salech, and play became so lethargle in the closing minutes of the first half that the referee's whistle came as a relief to many.

COSTA'S GOOD WORK
Review Of Last Week's Matches By "R. Abbit"
Although the First League cricket bas only just begun, thera have been some very important results, two positive and one negative. The Club won against the Civil Service, (I have al- ready mentioned the game), a thing they have not done for a couple of years, if my memory serves me, as last year they drow, I think, and lost the year before that, or perhaps it was the other way round. Anyway they won the match and the Indians won their game also, while the Kowloon team only managed a draw, though admittedly this was very much in their favour. It is a bit early to talk about the result, but I must say that it looks to me as if the Cub and the I.R.C. will have to fight it dut again this season.
