Soveral railway coaches camo tu for attention from Japanese nir raiders last werk when the western didelels near Hungjao were subjected to a heavy bombardment. 1'hoto shows dange done to one of the coaches which were believed to have been used for the transportation of Chinese troops.

The western district of Shanghai has a considerable force of Chinese soldiers and members of the Peace Preservation Corps concentrated in all areas. The Chinese lines were subjected to serial bombing last week when a number of foreign residences were severely damaged. Photo shows a regular soldier and a member of the P.P.C.
