New Official Of University Arrives In H.K.
Vice-Chancellor Joins Welcome To Governor
Mr. Duncan John Sloss, c.a.E., M.A., Hongkong University's new Vice- Chancellor, arrived here from Eng- land by the P. and O. Runghi. this morning and proceeded direct from the ship, immediately it has tied up at the buoy, to Hongkong to participate in the Colony's welerme to Sir Geoffry Northcote, a fellow passen ger during the voyage.
Arrangements had been made for University representatives to welcome Mr. Sloss on board the slip, but these Vice- were altered when the new Chancellor arranged with Air Vice- Marshal A. W. Teddar, another pas- senger, to proceed direct-to~~~Biske Pier to welcome the new Governor. At Blake Pier Mr. Sloss met Sirl William Homell, the retiring Vice- Chanceitor, who hands over the
reigns of his office to-dhy. Mr. Sloss
