The county cricket champion- ship in still an excitingly open contest.
Yesterday Middlesex regained the leadership when they beat Kent and Yorkshire could win only first innings points from Surrey. Both teams have two more matches to play. York- shire oppose Sussex at East- bourne and Hampshire at Bourne- mouth; Middlesex have to meet Notts at Nottingham and Surrey
at Lord's.
