Giants Beaten By Philadelphia

New York, July 12. Philadelphin whipped the New York Giants in the National League to-day, six to three, thus cutting down the average of the Lengue's second rank- ing team of the moment.

Brooklyn's game with Boston was postponed on account of rain.

St. Louis made up for yesterday's serious double-header loss to Pitts- burgh by cutting down the Pirates attacks, hitting 11 and scoring six. Pirates hit 11 also, but could only score five.

The Chicago-Cincinnati game was also cancelled, but the Cubs are still well out ahead in the League table.

The only two fixtures in the Ameri- Cleveland against League, Chicago, Philadelphia against New Yorit, were both postponed because of rain.-Reuter.
