I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of Your Lordship's Despatch, and to state that I have duly communicated with the Registrar General on the subject of the application of the Registrar of Marriage, leaving it to him to propose a further grant of fifty pounds a year in addition to his present salary, as a personal allowance, and in recognition of his long and meritorious services.
I submitted the contents of Your Lordship's Despatch to the Executive Council, and I have the honour to inform Your Lordship that they concurred in the proposal. I have taken advantage of the permission given to approve a further increase of the Registrar's salary by a personal allowance of £50 a year, making his total salary £310 a year.
