Our civil service salaries and pen- slons bills for the next year or so are likely to be all-time records. They reached a record when the dollar was 2s. 3d.,-now the dollar is less thon 18. 3d., and must civil servants are paid in sterling.
The Government will present its Estimates in Council next September. It is already casting around for palatable ways and means of raising new money.
