After Painting Their

Portraits In Studio

RINCESS ELÍZABETH and Princess Margaret PRINCE recently spent three afternoons in the studio of Miss Margaret Lindsay Williams in Hamilton-terrace, St. John's Wood, while she has been painting their portrait..

Miss Lindsay Williams has enjoyed the company of the young royal visitors. She said:—

"They are charming children, childlike, natural, completely without affectation. They both have a very keen sense of humour. They talked away all the time. They sang nursery rhymes. They both have sweetly musical voices. They clapped hands to 'Pease-pudding hot, pease pudding cold."

"A favourable pastime was telling stories, Princess Elizabeth would start a story, making it up as she went along. Then Mrs. Knight, their nurse Princess Margaret would carry it on.

Egypt's King For Coronation

HOLD HIS OWN NEXT YEAR ·

London, Apr. 6. Seventeen year- old King Farouk of Egypt is coming to London to get a few tips on this coronation business from the crowning of King George VI, May 12.

Farouk left Egypt February 27 on a long vacation, which will take in the British corona- tion ceremonics, and land him back in Cairo about the end of June for his own ascension of the throne on coming of age.

Farouk will take no official part, in King George's coronation ceremonies, but he will be able to sympathize with George on the fedious and in- irlcate formalities, since his

own throning will be the simple core- mony of taking the oath before par- liament.

SHOULD BE CROWNED There are no plans for a corona- tion, in Egypt, although some news- papers have been suggesting the Introduction of a crown, arguing that now that Egypt is completely inde pendent, and the British and Turkish yokes thrown off, Farouk should be crowned properly.

Accompanying Farouk on his holl- day are his mother, Queen Nazli, and his four sisters, the Princesses Fewzic, aged 15, Faiza, aged 13, Faikah, aged ten, and Fathlo, aged 6, They plan to go to Switzerland for the winter sports before coming to London vin, Paris.
