The second annual prize meet- ing of the Hongkong Rifle A150~- ciation
to-day on tho Kowloon Rifle Ranges with.com petitions among the Combined Services. Evidence of the grow- ing popularity of rifle-shooting among members of the regular fighting forces is shown by an in- crease of over thirty per cent, in the entries, compared with fast year.
The entries for the "Bisley" meet, however, reveal an even greater Increase. The total number of en- tries for the squadded individual competitions has increased by over 100 per cent and it is significant- that in no single event is the increase in entries less than 20 per cent. THREE SHANGHAI BADMINTON TITLES GO BY DEFAULT TO MEISE
A. Meise has been awarded thres Shanghai badmiuten championships on forfelt due to the inability of P. Spagnoletti, finalist in all three events to appear. Spagnoletti has since then had to leave Shanghal and in as much as he will not be back till the badminton season is well over, the championships were declared forfelled to the other finalists.
Spagnoletti was in the finals of the men's singles championship, In which he was to appear against A. Melse. He was also in the play-off for the men's doubles and mixed doubles, his partners being A. H. Duff and Miss Decima Eardley and opponents being Melse and Berents and Melse and Mrs. T. M. Burlon respectively.
