Madrid, March 9.
After a day of terrific fighting on the Guadalajara front, the Government forces, attacked by a numerically superior enemy, have been obliged to retire. This admission is contained in a Defence Council communique issued to-day.
The attack was delivered with great power on the lines north-cast of Madrid. The Government troops fell back before Cogollor and Vela and the communique admits that the insurgents are continuing their advance.-Reuter.
