throwing
"OST people have paid their money to watch a
knife-throwing act.

There is a subtle fascination about a man throwing knives all round a girl in tights, always the feeling that he may miss just once.
There are two kinds of knife-throwing, target work and fighting. For target work the orthodox technique is to hold the knife at the point and throw it overhand. Getting the point home
The difficulty is learning how to judge your distance so that the knife turns over and over, and finally straightens up at the right 'instant to hit the target.
The other dimculty is learning how to throw knives all round the target but not in her.
In circles where friendly arguments sometimes end with knife battics a different technique is used.
One way is to carry the knife in a little harness strapped round the wrist with the point resting on a little shelf.
In difficult moments you knock the point off its ledge by rubbing your. wrist down your leg, so that the point sildes down on to the palm of your hand,
Quicker than a gun .
Jeric your arm up and away goes the knife.
Experts claim that this is quicker than drawing a gun. The gunmon has to perform two actions, grabbing the gun and raising it, against the knife merchant's simple jerk.
These target and fighting knives are not very impressive in appear- ance. Just a point with no cutting edge.
