1. The subject of the proposal has been before the Council and the public for the greater part of the past year.
2. The Companies Act 1867: 31 Vic: Cap 131, has never been adopted in this Colony, and in July 1875 the Directors of the China Trader's Insurance Company, feeling themselves handicapped by the size of their shares - One Thousand dollars each - applied to the Government to consider the propriety of introducing the Act in Hong Kong, with a view to taking advantage of the clause which enables...
