A DEPARTMENT to complete

the formulation of plans for the supply, control and distribu-| tion of food in war-time is to be set up by the Government

It will be known as the Food (De- fence Piana) Department, and al though under the control of the Board of Trade, it will work in. co- operation with the Minister for the Co-ordination of Defence.

The director of the new depart- ment is Mr. H. L. French. He is 53.
